Media personality and entrepreneur, Toke Makinwa, has announced she is expecting her first child.
She described becoming pregnant as “the biggest project of my life” and her “highest calling ever.”
In an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday, the television host reflected on what she called a prophetic declaration at the start of 2025, writing: “What a difference a year can make… Dear God, you did this one, you have completely changed my life. You opened this door that nobody can shut.
“You make all things beautiful in your time and this is just perfect… All that time I was convinced you had forgotten me, I didn’t understand why it took so long but now I see it. You worked on my heart posture to get me ready for the biggest blessing and the highest calling.”
Addressing her unborn child, whom she fondly called “my bug,” Makinwa said: “I cannot wait to meet you, you’ve made me the happiest person on earth… Thank you for choosing me to come through life to be the greatest reflection of God’s grace.”
The 40-year-old had previously spoken about her desire for motherhood while celebrating the 2024 Mother’s Day.
“I cannot wait to be a Mother, I know it’s in the cards for me and it’ll happen soon. Till then I’ll celebrate my first ever Mother’s Day as your god-mother,” she wrote on Instagram.
The TV host and influence, who began her career as a radio presenter before becoming one of Nigeria’s most recognised lifestyle personalities, said the journey to motherhood had humbled her.
“I’ve worn so many hats over the years but this one trumps it all. You guys have been with me from the start… this victory is major. You get to see me as a mother, I get to raise my own. Na me be this? Hallelujah!,” she wrote.
