The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says its operatives have seized 184.5 kilogrammes of cocaine from a courier company.

The agency described the operation as its largest seizure of cocaine from a courier firm in its history.

Speaking during a press briefing in Lagos on Tuesday, Buba Marwa, NDLEA chairman, said the agency arrested two suspects over the cocaine consignment.

The suspects are Afolabi Kazeem Micheal, a socialite popularly known as KC Luxury, and Lawal Kehinde, an employee of a logistics company.

The NDLEA chairman said the seized cocaine consignment is worth $27.7 million, which is approximately N39 million.

Marwa said after the seizure, the agency worked with the management of the logistics company, which led to the arrest of Michael and Kehinde.

The NDLEA chairman said Nigeria is being used as a transit hub for illicit drugs to the United Kingdom, some parts of Europe and Asia.

Marwa added that KC Luxury was arrested at the Lagos airport as he made to flee the country.

He said the socialite was found with €7,750, £2,800, N100,000, and expensive jewellery, relaying that exotic vehicles were discovered at the suspect’s luxury apartment in Banana Island, Ikoyi.

“This cartel leader did not walk into our custody voluntarily,” the NDLEA boss said.

“On the night of 13th August 2026, upon credible intelligence that he intended to flee the country on a business-class flight to Paris, our operatives moved decisively and apprehended him at the boarding gate of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, just as he attempted to escape the reach of the law.

“To those who believe they can hide behind luxury brands, glamorous lifestyles, and social media personas while trafficking poison into our communities and across our borders, this Agency will find you.

“It does not matter how well-connected, how wealthy, or how far you attempt to run. As this case demonstrates, we will track you to the departure gate if we must.”
