“I’ll Write Your Condolence Letter”, Nyesom Wike Reacts To Heart Attack Rumour
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Thursday dismissed reports alleging that he suffered a heart attack in London,
Speaking at the flag-off of the construction of Arterial Road N1 from Wuye District to Ring Road II in Abuja, Wike clarified that he had only traveled abroad to rest, stressing that those behind the rumours would be the ones to eventually suffer a heart attack.
“Since I took this appointment as minister, I have never had time to travel out, so I said let me go on holidays.”
” This time around I refused to travel with files. If the world will crumble, let it crumble because one has to be alive before you satisfy everybody,” Wike said.
He noted that public service is demanding, as people are quick to replace officials once they leave office, hence the need to prioritize personal health.
He mocked those spreading the false report, saying: “God will continue to help them to have heart attack. It is my prayer I will sign their condolences.”
Wike expressed concern about the extent of fake news in Nigeria, lamenting how some people fabricate stories for political reasons.
“This is a country where someone can go on social media and call the President a criminal and nothing will happen.”
“You are lucky to have a president that believes in the rule of law,” he added.
