A young Nigerian man has taken to the internet to share his experience with Hilda Baci’s rice, which he claimed he collected on Saturday during her Guinness World Record attempt for the largest pot of jollof rice.
In a video he posted, the man proudly said, “This is record-breaking rice from Saturday.” He explained that he had collected a large portion of the rice that day, refrigerated it, and later microwaved it to eat.
Excitedly, he revealed that even after four days, the rice still tasted delicious and looked firm. He also clarified that the boiled eggs seen in his plate were not part of the meal served during the event, but something he added himself.
Praising Hilda, he said: “Hilda, you are more than a chef—you are a cookist. A cookist is a chef who combines science, technology, love, and passion in their cooking.”
The man went on to gush over how sweet the rice remained after several days and showered praises on Hilda for her extraordinary cooking skills. He marveled at her ability to prepare food for over 16,000 people at once and still get everything right. “Sorry if you didn’t eat this food—you missed out on multiple levels. First, you missed being part of history. Meanwhile, I’m here enjoying it from the history side,” he added.
The video quickly went viral, sparking mixed reactions. While some people claimed the man is Hilda Baci’s brother, others dismissed the claim, insisting he was simply sharing his genuine experience.
