A Nigerian In Europe Mocks Court Order Stopping The Sale Of Dele Farotimi’s Book (pic & video)

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja has ordered the seizure of physical copies of lawyer and activist Dele Farotimi’s book, alleged to contain defamatory content about prominent Nigerian lawyer Afe Babalola.

The judge, Peter Kekemeke, issued the order on Wednesday, directing the police and other security agencies to seize copies of the book wherever they may be found.

The ruling followed an application by Kehinde Ogunwumiju, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and managing partner at Afe Babalola & Co.

Mr Ogunwumiju, in the substantive suit yet to be heard, is seeking N500 million in damages from Mr Farotimi for allegedly defaming him, the law firm, and its other lawyers in the book.

Mean while a Nigerian based in Europe has just received a copy of the controversial book after the court’s order. He mocked Nigerian’s judiciary that the order can only affect bookshops in Nigeria and not globally. He further revealed that many bookshops are still selling the book
