Ambode Denied Second Term, Jide Sanyaolu Sanwoolu To Replace Him

The feelers coming out shows that the Governor of Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode has been denied his constitutional second term by the party that brought him to power. Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode just declared officially yesterday, (Monday), his intention to seek re-election in 2019 on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC). He said he remains undaunted and resolutely committed to achieve more for the State.
Unfortunately for the embattled governor, 24 hours after his declaration, spanner has been thrown to his plans. The party leaders have not been favorably disposed to his official declaration. He had been having running battles with the organs of the party but efforts have been made to manage the situation.
The rumors became rife more than months ago and Ambode had seen the hand writing on the wall. He had quietlyand steathily been building his structure using state funds and his position to curry favors.
Today he had been given the marching order to withdraw his second term bid or be impeached by the house of the assembly if he insists on forging ahead with his plans.
Efforts to get words from the top echelon of the party structure have been met with silence. Reliable source told us that the current Commissioner of Establishment, Mr Jide Sanwoolu has been penciled down to replace Ambode.
He has been advised by the party top brass to pick up the nomination form and joined the governorship race on the platform of APC. Tentatively, Mr Hakeem Muri Okunola has been pencilled down as his running mate.
