Chieftain of PDP and the publisher of Ovation Magazine, Bashorun Dele Momodu has declared that he will not be surprised if Independent National Electoral Commission has also joined the ruling party, APC. he was reacting to the gale of defections that have hit the opposition party, PDP
APC received he governor of Delta state, Sheriff Oborevwori, and several prominent leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, including former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, into its fold. Joining him are top PDP figures, including former vice-presidential candidate and former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, senior administration officials, members of the House of Assembly, local government chairmen, councillors, and numerous grassroots supporters.
Momodu said he fought for the survival of democracy in Nigeria along with President Bola Tinubu and others, is however surprised that Tinubu could now turn out to be anti democratic. He beleived Tinubu and APC are coercing opposition party figures using state apparatus to force them in supporting his second term bid.
“When you talk about our leader Okowa joining APC, I am not surprised. He has been under serious harrasment in recent times”, Momodu said
“The game is clear, nothing is new, we have seen it before and it is replaying itself, I will not be surprised tomorrow if INEC declares it has joined APC”
