Bashir El-Rufai, son of the immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, yesterday went on the rampage on X, tearing into his brother whom he did not name, for alleged disloyalty to the family and indulging in immoral acts.

In a series of comments on his verified account BashirElRufai, he accused his target of getting “stuck with Uba Sanni (Kaduna State Governor) until he realised he is being dumped then suddenly remembered family loyalty and moved to ADC.”

He continued: “Where was he since? Purely serving his interest. When people like us were countering the governor…This is the same person that asked me to pipe down on my criticism of his former boss.”

Bashir claimed that his target was into drinking alcohol and having “an unknown substance around his nostrils every night.” The bitter outburst also contained several highly personal and unsubstantiated allegations against Bello, including claims relating to his private life and alleged drug use. Some of the posts were later removed.

He also said: “I have warned you. Stay the f..k away from my affairs.”

In other comments, he said: “Stay away from me. I have outgrown you. I do not need you. Drink in peace and command your minions.

Bashir, apparently acting under pressure from people, deleted some of his more damaging comments.

Some citizens expressed shock at Bashir’s conduct and called for a ceasefire.
