‘I Absolutely Regret My Marriage & I Was Targeted For Financial Reasons’. Porsha Williams’ Ex-Husband & Deported Simon Guobadia From USA Reveals (video)
Simon Guobadia, the ex-husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams, has broken his silence following their divorce.
The Nigerian businessman didn’t hold back on his thoughts and feelings about the marriage, admitting that he “absolutely regrets” the marriage to the American reality star.
According to Mr.Simon, he “was targeted for financial reasons.”
In the exclusive chat with Page Six, he recalled repeatedly asking, “Why did you file for a divorce?” only to be met with silence.
“I kept asking, ‘Why did you file for a divorce?’ And she wouldn’t say anything,” claiming he could not get in touch with her family.
“This felt like a coup. … I was totally blindsided,” he laments, which Williams recently predicted he would feel.
After his attempts to reach Williams’s loved ones failed, Guobadia said he fired off a scathing text reading: “This was a $5 million rehab project that I took on.”
Their marriage lasted for just 14 months as Williams filed for divorce in February 2024, citing troubling discoveries about his finances and U.S. immigration status.
Guobadia insisted they never had such talks prior to her filing for divorce, “She never shared her concerns or issues with me before filing for divorce. If you’re married … you discuss issues and say, ‘Hey, if this does not change or something does not happen, this is what might come of it.” he explained
He also reflected on their quick engagement: “Getting engaged in 30 days…who does that? I was out of my goddamn mind.”
Posha told People earlier this week she had hired an immigration attorney in January 2024 after uncovering “complex” issues with Guobadia’s legal status, noting that she felt the relationship was “headed down a dark road.”
She said the two had a confrontation on Valentine’s Day and that she filed for divorce just over a week later.
Guobadia — who was deported to Nigeria earlier this month because of immigration violations, including bank and credit card fraud — tells us, noting they “never had those discussions.”
He adds, “I think I was targeted. I was targeted from day one for financial reasons. When I filed for divorce from my previous ex-wife [‘RHOA’ cast member Falynn Guobadia, Williams was in my DM praying for me. I think I was in a vulnerable position at that time, and I entertained it. So it just kind of snowballed from there.
“Getting engaged in 30 days … who does that? I was out of my goddamn mind to have done that. Of course, I’m paying dearly for it.”
Following a grueling four months in ICE custody and deportation to Nigeria, a judge upheld their prenup, awarding Williams $40,000 monthly alimony and up to 36 months of mortgage-free residence. Guobadia vows to appeal “with 1,000%” certainty, even taking it “all the way to the Supreme Court.”
On Williams’s daughter PJ, he stated plainly, “I don’t have a relationship with her daughter,” dismissing his ex-wife’s notion that the pair were close. He also criticizes Williams’s gesture of paying child support during his ICE stay, noting it “was not done in good faith” and served only narrative purposes.
