Just In: Graham Potter Appointed As Chelsea Manager (pic)

Chelsea have announced that they’ve appointed Brighton & Hove Albion boss Graham Potter as their new manager to replace Thomas Tuchel.

Potter joins Chelsea a day after they sacked Tuchel, with the team sixth in the league on 10 points after six matches.

Potter said: “I am incredibly proud and excited to represent Chelsea FC, this fantastic football club.

“I would also like to place my sincere thanks to Brighton & Hove Albion for allowing me this opportunity.”

The 47-year-old Potter has signed a five-year contract. His appointment might be regarded as a gamble by Chelsea because of his lack of experience coaching at soccer’s highest level.

Potter is widely admired as one of the country’s best tacticians and has embraced a brave, entertaining style of play that has won plaudits if not yet any trophies.
