See The New Lexus LF-1 (pics)

Lexus has unveiled the LF-1 at the Detroit show 2018

It has been designed in California by Lexus/Toyota’s Design research.

‘This is our vision for a new kind of flagship vehicle  that embraces crossover capability without giving up the performance and luxury delivered by today’s top saloons’, said Kevin Hunter , President of CALTY Design Research.

The car has smooth and uninterrupted lines and curves across the body giving it an overall sleek appearance.

At the front of the vehicle the new grille has a sharp design and is flanked by narrow LED headlights.

It has the shape of a coupe-SUV giving it a low profile but thanks to the glass roof, there should be plenty of headroom inside the car for the four passengers.

At the rear a wraparound rear light stretches across the tailgate and sits above the muscular bumper.

New 22-inch alloy wheels also provide a powerful stance on the road.

Wing mirrors have been removed in favour of 360 cameras suggesting its autonomous capabilities.

Powering the car could be a choice between fuel-cell, petrol, hybrid or all-electric.

Specifics about the powertrains performance have yet to be divulged.

Inside the car most of the dials have been replaced will motion-activated control and displays with haptic feedback.

Each seat inside the car is the same and have an almost luxury bucket seat design.

Flanking the head-up drive display are two smaller screens which act as the car’s wing mirrors and display feeds straight from the cameras.

Lexus has also developed a new driver mode called ‘Chauffeur’ which is a progression of adaptive cruise control.

A new concierge mode has also been fitted into the centre console which allows passengers to do thing sushi as book hotels or make reservations for restaurants.


This autonomous concept could be propelled by fuel cell, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, gasoline or even all-electric.

LF-1 Limitless is Lexus’ next step in innovation.
