Norway becomes the First Nation to pay Male and Female Football teams equal Pay Grade

The Norwegian women’s football team has become the first female national team to receive the same pay deal as their male counterparts. The team is now in the Netherlands to prepare for their World Cup qualifier.

The Norwegian football association made good its promise it made early October. Norway is a country where equal standing is very important, i think it is good for the country and for the sport.

Norway’s equality deal becomes at a time when the disparity between money and conditions of male and female players is a topical issue.

National team winger Caroline Graham Hansen took to Instagram to thank her male colleagues for their donation. ‘ Thank you for making this step for female athletes. For showing equality and helping us all, making it a bit easier, to chase our dreams’ she wrote

Denmark recently cancelled a home women’s friendly against Netherlands due to a dispute over money. Furthermore, the women’s football team of Denmark could be expelled from World Cup qualifying after calling off Friday’s game with Sweden due to a dispute over pay and conditions.

Irish female players were told to change into track suits in toilets as their kit had to be shared with under age teams.
